Various types of treatments are available to suit all budgets and style preferences.

Hard Window Treatments include Shutters, Shades, and Blinds. Shutters are louvers or fix slats made of wood or plastic. They can be attached to the interior or exterior of windows with hinges. Their function is to control the amount of light that enters the room adding style and beauty to the space. The most popular are wooden shutters because of their elegant look.

Blinds are a type of covering also made of wood, plastic, or aluminum louvers that can be tilted open or shut without lifting the shade. They are popular for their ability to block visibility into a home. An advantage of blinds is that they can regulate the amount of light entering a room. Popular examples of blinds include:

Shades are a type of hard blind. They come in different fabric window coverings that can be rolled up to allow light and visibility into a room or rolled down to completely cover a window. The two main types of shades are:

Soft Window Treatment

Drapery also known as curtains creates a casual, elegant, and sophisticated look, and usually come in pairs. You can draw them together to limit light and increase privacy or pull them apart for the opposite effect.

The valence is a type of window treatment that covers the uppermost part of a window. It can be hung alone or paired with other window treatments such as blinds and curtains. Decorative valances hide drapery hardware and are very popular. They were very popular in Victorian interior design. They are commonly referred to as swags when they are draped or bunted.

Valances come in minimalist looks, pleated or ruffled looks, and anything else from a classic wooden finish to a sharp metallic look. There are swags, cascades, layers, and balloons, and you can pick from any number of styles.

A Window Cornice.

Cornice boxes are decorative elements attached to your curtains or blinds as part of your window treatment. Their frame consists of fabric and solid materials. In addition to covering window treatment hardware, they also add additional color and style to a room. Additionally, they help block glare around the top of the window.
